There's nothing worse than a day when your child can't get outside and burn some energy. Whether it's because of rain, snow, sleet, or hail, this list of items to have in your home will help keep children busy. Try keeping some items stored in a box on a closet shelf, so when you bring them out they are interesting and new. That makes them much more exciting than things they see everyday!
Art Supplies:
Crayons
Markers
Watercolor paints
Cray-pas
Paintbrushes
Construction paper (mixed colors)
Glue
Ink Pads
Stamps
Colored Feathers
Beads
String
Some new books
Puzzles
Board Games
Building blocks (can be wooden blocks or age appropriate legos, etc.)
There are a lot of things you can do with everyday home items - the only limit is your imagination! Pudding or shaving cream can become fingerpaints, rice can be put in a large shallow box or baking pan to be used in place of a sand box, beans can be glued to paper to make a mosaic! Even if you try something new that doesn't work out quite right, your child will enjoy the experimenting.
